We provided extra instruction in reading and math, asking the students to invest an additional 90 minutes twice a week, with Saturday sessions from 9-12.

We prepared enticing, down-home, southern country breakfasts, complete with biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, juice, and more. This rewarded their hard work, reinforced their belief that we genuinely cared about them, and unleashed their incredible potential.

Recognizing the value of time, we approached our staff with respect and understanding. Instead of requesting an hour and a half of their time, we asked if they could spare an extra 90 minutes. This small adjustment made a significant impact, as it showed our teachers that we valued their time and efforts, resulting in increased buy-in from the staff.
